Creating an optimized proposal in SumoQuote is like a rocket taking off

3 Ways to Optimize Your Proposals in SumoQuote

Author

SumoQuote is best known for having beautiful proposals. It’s also known for increasing your close rates—by an average of 64%, to be exact. But what fewer people know is that SumoQuote makes it possible to create quotes in minutes. And that isn’t an exaggeration!

Imagine this. You get a call from a homeowner requesting a quote for a new roof. At the property, you inspect the roof and take photos and measurements before coming down to build the quote.

Instead of heading back to the office, you spend five minutes creating a proposal complete with photos and accurate pricing. One site visit is all it takes to inspect, quote, and sell the job.
What’s the trick? There are three ways to optimize your proposals in SumoQuote so that you can build them lightning-fast.

  1. Layouts
  2. Price lists
  3. Integrations

Layouts

In SumoQuote, a layout is a pre-built report. When you first become a SumoQuote customer, it’s important to select and build out layouts for the type of work you do.

You can edit those layouts to reflect products, pricing, and margins and duplicate them to suit your business needs. For example, if you own a roofing company but want to start offering siding, you could customize layouts for roofing, roofing and siding, or siding only.

There are several prebuilt layouts in SumoQuote that you can use, or you can customize your own. Either way, when you go to create a new report, you can select ‘Create From Layout,’ and the proposal will prepopulate information for you.

Price Lists

Being able to automate the prices that pull into all of your quotes speeds up the process a lot as well. There are two ways you can do this.

The first is by importing your own list.

The second is by integrating with a supplier like Beacon to access live pricing.

You can create and update different price lists in SumoQuote. You might consider making an additional price list for specific distributors, different branch locations, and tax differences between locations.

Integrations

Depending on your business size and needs, integrating your SumoQuote account with other technologies can speed up the quoting process. Some great examples include:

  1. CompanyCam - Integrating SumoQuote with CompanyCam lets you take photos of the roof and import them directly to your quote while building it in your truck. You can even annotate them so the homeowner understands what the images show.
  1. EagleView - Before stepping on the homeowner’s property, you can pull the roof’s measurements into a quote.

Other integrations could include Hover, financing, and JobNimbus

Quoting in Minutes

Despite popular belief, using an online quoting tool for selling at the kitchen table is advantageous. Being able to quote in minutes on-site significantly reduces the turnaround time from inspection to quote (and then signed contract).

Not only will you set the bar high for the homeowner by providing a quote faster than your competitor, but you can drastically reduce the time it takes to create the quote. Ultimately, you’ll get more signed quotes and more time to focus on lead generation.
